Course Information

Below you will find all the information regarding each course in the four-race series. Each course is designed to build upon the previous one. Each course has increasingly more technical terrain and increasingly more elevation/gain loss. Participants who complete all four events will have a strong, basic knowledge of the Round Valley trail system.

Course Description: With two short exceptions, the entire course is on graded-type dirt roads. This is the easiest terrain out of all of the courses and has the least amount of elevation gain/loss. This is a great course for children and a great introduction to trail running participants doing in their first trail running event. It is slightly longer than a 5k, measuring at 3.21 miles.

Aid Stations: There will be one aid station at approximately 2 miles into the course.  It will be stocked with water.

PROBAR_logo_process_36_2Course Description: This course is slightly more challenging than the 5k. The course takes participants onto additional elevation gain/loss as well as more technical/rocky terrain. The first switchbacks of this series are approximately 2.8 miles into this course. With more challenge comes more reward! Participants will encounter great views of the surrounding Park City scenery.

Aid Stations: There will be three aid stations at miles 1, 2.7, and 5. They will be stocked with water and friendly volunteers.  Thanks to our 2013 sponsor, ProBar, we will also be giving away ProBar Bolt – organic energy chews – at mile 4.7.

Course Description:
This course is more challenging than the 10k because of an increase in the amount of single-track an elevation gain. The challenge is, however, what makes this course one of our participant favorites. There is a long, steady hill starting at about mile 4.2 and ending near mile 5.7. From there it is just a few bumps in the road and a downhill finish.

Aid Stations: There are four aid stations on this course at miles 1.9, 3.6, 5.8, and 8.2. They will all be stocked with water and friendly volunteers.  Thanks to our 2013 sponsor, ProBar, we will also be giving away ProBar Bolt – organic energy chews – at mile 3.6.

Course Description: This is our most challenging course.  Without any single hill being overwhelming on its own, the sum of its parts is what makes it challenging.  This is not a course for a first time trail runner that isn’t interested in a challenge.  The half marathon includes the most scenic viewpoints from all the races.  In addition, it has the most technical downhill portion of any of the races. The course has a lot of single track, a lot of switchbacks, and prepares the beginner trail runner for any trail or terrain out there.

Aid Stations: There will be 5 aid stations at miles 1.3, 3.5, 5.8, 9.1, and 12.2. ProBar Bolt – organic energy chews – will be available for participants to grab-and-go at mile 3.5, 5.8, and 9.1.  All aid stations will be stocked with water and friendly volunteers.
